Primary responsibilities include managing several departments (Grounds, Maintenance, Plant Operations, Campus Responders, and Transportation) on a 500-acre, multi-building property. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, knowledge of the trades associated with this position, budget management, attention to detail, good people and organizational skills.

Adjacent to famous Longwood Gardens, residents and staff enjoy the local cultural opportunities, vibrant towns, and working in an oasis in the heart of the Brandywine Valley. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or related field.
Minimum five years’ experience in facilities management along with five years’ management experience to include supervision of skilled craftspeople.
Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, grounds, automotive, and transportation operations.
Engineering degree preferred. Strong leadership ability.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Demonstrated understanding of operations and capital budget process.
Basic computer skills necessary.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence and be insurable by the Kendal Crosslands Communities insurance.
